James Neyhouse begins his third year as the head coach of the Centre College Volleyball Program. A 1997 graduate, of Wilmington College, Neyhouse had been the head coach at his alma mater since 2001.
Neyhouse began his coaching career as a student assistant coach at Wilmington. He was also an assistant coach at Saint Leo University, an NCAA Division II school, before being named the head coach at Thomas More College in 1998.
While at Thomas More, Neyhouse led the Saints to a top five regional ranking twice, including an appearance in the NCAA Division III National Volleyball Tournament in 1999.
In 2000, he was named an assistant coach at NCAA Division I member, Bowling Green State University. In his only year at Bowling Green, the Falcons won the Mid-American Conference (MAC) East Division Championship.
The following year, Neyhouse returned to Wilmington to be the head volleyball coach and assistant track coach. In 2004, he led the volleyball program to its best record in the past decade.
As a student at Wilmington, Neyhouse founded and captained the Wilmington College Men's Volleyball Club. He was also a member of the track and cross country teams as well as being named a Quaker Leader Scholar. Along with being the head volleyball coach, Neyhouse will also serve as the assistant sports information director and teach in the Health and Human Performance department. He has had previous experience in both areas, serving as the sports information director in his time at Thomas Moore and teaching in the Health and Physical Education department at Wilmington. |
