Volleyball wins on senior night
Centre College volleyball won its non conference match against interstate rival Transylvania. The win was the last home match for four seniors played on Wednesday., Nov. 1, in Danville, Ky.
Playing in their last home match were seniors Kate Bennett (Louisville, KY), Ellie Exner (Durham, NC), Christelle Ford (Corpus Christi, TX), and Megan McElveen (Cold Spring, KY). These four seniors have never lost to Transylvania and they would continue that tradition on senior night winning the match in four games by scores of 30-27, 30-32, 30-21, 30-24.
Helping the seniors earn the victory were junior Sarah Burger (Goshen, KY) who led all hitters with15 kills and sophomore Lindsay Smith (Cincinnati, OH) who added 14 kills and 1 block to the effort.
Centre will return to action Friday - Sunday, Nov. 3-5, when they travel to Oglethorpe College in Atlanta, GA. for the SCAC Cross divisional #2.
