Recreational Fields and Courts

Rec Field: This field is located behind the Norton Center and Boles Natatorium and serves as an additional practice facility for our intercollegiate soccer teams in the fall but is still available for recreational use after 7 p.m. Students or staff may request the lights be turned on by contacting Public Safety. This space is also used to play intramural soccer in the fall and softball in the spring. This field is available for recreation anytime after 7 p.m. in the fall and anytime in the spring except when planned intramural events are scheduled.

Practice Football Field: West of Farris Stadium and adjacent to the tennis courts, this field serves as the primary practice area for the Colonels football team and is not available during the fall season. During the spring this space is also used by the track team for field events, but is available for recreation on a limited basis.

Outdoor Basketball Courts: Two outdoor concrete surfaced courts are available for recreation until dark. These courts are located behind the fraternity houses off Walnut Street.

Sand Volleyball Court: A sand volleyball court located behind the dorms on the north side of campus is available for recreation until dark.

Racquetball Courts: Two regulation racquetball courts with hardwood flooring are located on the lower level of Sutcliffe Hall. Equipped with a viewing balcony, these courts are ideal for activity classes and recreational use. Courts may be reserved by signing the reservation sheet on the first floor bulletin board. Two additional non-regulation courts are available for walleyball and recreational play.

Baseball Field: This field serves as the home to the Colonels baseball team. Located behind the bleachers of Farris Stadium, the baseball infield is restricted to baseball use only. Left field is used for additional practice space for the football team in the fall and right field is used for intramural football during the fall. The outfield may be used for recreation on a limited basis in the fall, but is limited to baseball use in the spring.
