Committee on Instructional and Technology Resources

The Committee on Instructional and Technology Resources recommends policies and procedures dealing with library and bookstore resources and facilities, instructional and classroom resources and facilities, and information technology. The committee provides a venue for discussions concerning long-term planning, guidance in setting budget priorities and the allocation of funds, and a policy discussion forum. To enact this charge, the committee makes recommendations to the Director of Libraries, the Bookstore Manager, and the Directors of Information Technology Services and Instructional Resources, as well as other affected parties in the College community

Mission Statement

The committee shall conduct its business in accordance with the charge stated above in the following manner:

  1. The committee shall annually review the convergence of library, computer services, and instructional technologies and make specific recommendations to the directors of the three administrative departments, the Dean of the College, and the Council Committee on Planning and Priorities.
  2. We interpret our charge of "makes recommendations to.. .as well as other affected parties of the College community" to mean that we should also report directly to the Dean of the College and the Council Committee on Planning and Priorities.
  3. The entire Instructional and Technology Resources Committee will meet a minimum of twice each long term and once during the CentreTerm.
  4. The entire committee shall annually review the liaison relationship with Follett Corporation and make specific recommendations on policies and procedures to the manager of the bookstore.
  5. The chair shall annually appoint a liaison to the Instructional Technology Advisory Committee.
  6. A subcommittee shall be annually appointed by the chairman to review and recommend annual assessment procedures for the Library, Information Technology Services, and Instructional Resources.
  7. The Directors of Library Services, Information Technology Services, and Instructional Resources shall make regular reports on appropriate activities relevant to the committee's charge and further shall make annual financial reports to the committee on current expenditures and future budgetary needs.
  8. The committee shall discuss and make recommendations concerning policy and long term planning, shall guide the setting of budget priorities and allocating funds, and shall oversee the licensing of electronic and online services.
