Financial Committee Minutes (August 6, 1866)

[August 6, 1866] Preparatory Department in C. C.

At their meeting in June 1866, the Board of Trustees authorized & directed their Financial Committee to employ a teacher for this department for the ensuring year.

For the purpose of employing such teacher, the Financial Committee of the Board of Trustees of C. C. meet in the office of the Financial Agent, at 4 o'clock, p.m. Aug. 6, 1866. Members present, E. Humphrey, J. A. Jacobs, 0. Beatty, G. W. Welsh & F. Agt. In the absence of the Chairman, E. F. Humphrey was chosen Chairman pro tem. J. A. Jacobs & 0. Beatty were appointed a committee to confer with certain gentlemen whose names had been presented to this Committee as suitable persons to fill the office of teachers in this department & report at their earliest convenience. Adjourned to meet at the call of said committee.
