This is a searchable database of all Centre College graduates from 1824
through 1890 and all Caldwell College (later Kentucky College for Women)
graduates from 1861 through 1913. See notes below for additional
information.

Sources for Database
In 1890 Centre College published an alumni directory that listed all graduates
and nongraduates through the Class of 1890. The entries for graduates included
brief biographical sketches. In 1915 Kentucky College for Women also published
a directory of its alumni, including biographical sketches for graduates.
These two directories are the sources for the alumni database.
What is included in the database
- All Centre College graduates (as listed in the 1890 directory) from 1824
through 1890
- All Caldwell College/Kentucky College for Women graduates (as listed in
the 1915 directory) from 1861 through 1913
What is NOT included in the database
- Centre College nongraduates
- Centre College irregular (non-degree seeking) students
- Centre College Preparatory Department students
- Caldwell College/Kentucky College for Women nongraduates
- Caldwell College/Kentucky College for Women preparatory students
Searching
The biographical sketches were keyed exactly as they appear in the directories.
Be aware that the amount of information varies from entry to entry, that
the kinds of information included for each entry is inconsistant, and that
abbreviations are extensively used.
Technical Information
The information was originally keyed into a MS Access database by Sid Zadnichek
of the Centre College Library staff. The Web search interface and Access to Postgresql conversion was done by Shane Wilson of Centre's Computer Services staff.
