Legislators to hold committee meeting on Centre College campus
DANVILLE, KY- The education committees of the Kentucky Senate and House of Representatives will hold their interim joint meeting on the campus of Centre College, Friday, July 16. The 34 legislators will visit classes in the Kentucky Governor's Scholars program currently underway at Centre and have photos taken with GSP participants from their districts.
After lunch with the Governor's Scholars, the legislators will convene their meeting at 1 p.m. in the board room of the college's Norton Center for the Arts. The meeting is open to the public.
The co-chairs of the Senate Education Committee are Lindy Casebier (Louisville) and Bob Jackson (Murray). The House Education Committee is chaired by Frank Rasche (Paducah).
The other members of the Senate committee are Benny Ray Bailey (Hindman), Brett Guthrie (Bowling Green), David Karem (Louisville), Alice Forgy Kerr (Lexington), Vernie McGaha (Russell Springs), Gerald Neal (Louisville), Ernesto Scorsone (Lexington), Dale Shrout (Mt. Sterling), Robert Stivers (Manchester) and Jack Westwood (Erlanger).
Members of the House committee are Larry Belcher (Shepherdsville), Buddy Buckingham (Murray), Mike Cherry (Princeton), Jack Coleman (Burgin), Hubert Collins (Wittensville), Barbara White Colter (Manchester), Jon Draud (Crestview Hills), Tim Feeley (Crestwood), Gippy Graham (Frankfort), Thomas Robert Kerr (Taylor Mill), Mary Lou Marzian (Louisville), Charles Miller (Louisville), Harry Moberly (Richmond), Tom Riner (Louisville), Charles Siler (Williamsburg), Arnold Simpson (Covington), Dottie Sims (Horse Cave), Kathy Stein (Lexington), Gary Tapp (Shelbyville), Jim Thompson (Battletown), Mark Treesh (Philpot) and Charlie Walton (Florence).
