Centre Names Rall Sports Information Director

DANVILLE, KY--Ed Rall, a 1971 Centre College graduate who has served as assistant football coach and head baseball coach at the school for 11 years, has been named sports information director, athletics director Joe McDaniel announced Monday.

Rall, who coached at Boyle County for 17 years prior to coming to Centre, will relinquish his football coaching responsibilities, but will continue as baseball coach. He replaces Glenn Osborne in the sports information office. Osborne, who was sports information director for

three years, resigned to accept a similar position at Transylvania University.

"We're sorry to lose Glenn," McDaniel said. "He's done a wonderful job for Centre over the last three years. But we're fortunate to be able to replace him with Coach Rall, who has worked in sports information here before and certainly knows the ropes."

Rall was Centre's sports information director from 1988-91.

"I'm excited about the opportunity," Rall said. "It will be strange not coaching football, but I am looking forward to being able to work with all the coaches and student-athletes at Centre."

Rall earned his master's degree from Eastern Kentucky University. He compiled a 94-57 record in 14 years as Boyle County's head football coach. He was also the Rebels' head baseball coach for 12 seasons.

In 11 years as Centre's head baseball coach, Rall's record is 161-187-1.

Rall and his wife, Denise, have two children: Daniel, 20, and Lindsay, 16.
