Molly Alvey Named SCAC Player of the Week

DANVILLE, KY - Centre College junior Molly Alvey was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference player of the week in volleyball for games played the last week in October. The Louisville Mercy Academy graduate led the Colonels to six consecutive wins during a road trip through Virginia and Georgia. Those included a win over fourth-ranked Greensboro (N.C.) College in a meet hosted by Washington & Lee University.

Alvey had 94 assists to bring her season's total to 999. To date, she has 2,771 career assists, a school record.

Coach Stephanie Dragan commented: "Alvey's strong work ethic and desire to continually improve is recognized by everybody in the conference. Her hustle and her ability to get to every single ball is amazing. She also makes smart and effective choices."

The Lady Colonels will play next at home versus Asbury College on Nov. 2.
