DANVILLE, KY — Laurence Bitensky, assistant professor of music at Centre, has received the ASCAPLU$ award.
The ASCAPLU$ is an annual award given by the concert and symphonic division of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.
Bitensky received a cash award in recognition of his original musical compositions, performances and honors during the past year.
Bitensky received a bachelor's degree in piano performance from the New England Conservatory of Music, a master's in composition from Ithaca College, and a doctorate in composition from Cornell University.
