Norton Center at Centre College Welcomes the Boston Pops
DANVILLE, KY -- The 113-year old Boston Pops Orchestra will bring its world-famous music to Centre College's Norton Center for the Arts on Monday, Jan. 18. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. in Newlin Hall.
The performance was schedule this year as a special event in honor of the 25th anniversary season at the Norton Center. Tickets are already on sale at the box office. Hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays, or patrons may call 606-236-4692.
Members of the world-famous Boston Pops have appeared for more than twenty-five years on the PBS series "Evening at Pops," and their annual Christmas and Fourth of July performances, "Holiday at Pops" and "Pops goes the Fourth!", have been aired on A&E.
With over a hundred recordings under the leadership of legendary conductors Arthur Fieldler and John Williams, the Boston Pops have become the most-recorded orchestra in the world. Now, under the leadership of their charismatic young conductor, Keith Lockhart, the acclaimed Boston Pops will appear at the Norton Center.
The Norton Center for the Arts is a regional performing arts center which annually brings to Centre College a series of important musical groups, Broadway shows, individual performances and other works from the perf¿rts.
