Centre's Thompson and Moses make all-region team

DANVILLE, KY -- Centre College field hockey players Austin Thompson (Louisville Collegiate) and Beth Moses (Assumption) were named Regional All-Americans for 1999. Both women are from Louisville.

Thompson, a junior at Centre who plays midfield, earned first-team honors in the Great Lakes Region for both her offensive and defensive ability. Last year she made the all-region second team.

Moses, a sophomore, paced the Centre offense. She finished the season as the top scorer in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and the Great Lakes Region with 36 points and had an average of 2.25 goals a game. She set a school record by scoring six goals in one game.

The Colonels finished the season with a 10-7 record, tying a Centre school record for most wins in a season.

Kelly Kiernan is head coach and Reagan Greene is assistant coach.
