Centre announces post-season football honors
DANVILLE, KY - Senior linebacker Adam Browning, a graduate of Rockcastle County High School won two awards at Centre College's annual football banquet.
Browning, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Browning of Mount Vernon, was named Centre's Most Valuable Linebacker and received the Excellence Award. The awards were among ten presented by the Centre coaching staff following a vote of the team.
Joe Guthrie was named the team's Most Improved Player; Travis Bell was the Most Valuable Non-starter; Cam Demmerle received the Most Valuable Defensive Lineman; Andrew Habeeb and Eric Heyman shared the Most Valuable Defensive Back award; Kevin Chapman, the Most Valuable Offensive Back; Brian Britt, the Most Valuable Special Teams Player; Nate Fisher was the Most Valuable Offensive Lineman and Josh Elliott won the Most Valuable Receiver.
Browning was a four year letterman for the Colonels and was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Player of the Week for his defensive work versus Rhodes College. Centre finished the season with a 5-5 record, 3-3 in the SCAC.
