Centre College Announces Administrative Appointments

DANVILLE, KY -- Centre College recently appointed two persons to administrative positions. Deborah A. Jones has joined the college as director of career services, and Jamie T. Grider has been named associate director of annual giving.

Jones is a veteran of 16 years in college administration, most recently as associate director of career services at Lafayette College (Penn.). She directed Lafayette's job matching program and a resume database system, coordinated job fairs and supervised website interns. Jones also worked at Appalachian State University, where she was assistant director of administrative operations for student development.

Jones holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Indiana University, as well as master's and educational specialist's degrees from Appalachian State University. She is taking over the direction of the career development function from Dr. Carol Lunney, who is retiring in the spring of 1999 after 26 years of work at Centre.

Grider is a 1995 graduate of Centre who worked for the Metro United Way in Louisville for two years as a giving specialist. She completed an internship with the Lexington Public Library and, during her undergraduate studies at Centre, was a research assistant for William "Beau" Weston in the anthropology/sociology program.
