Nitty Gritty Dirt Band coming to Centre College

DANVILLE, KY -- The chart-busting Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is coming to Centre College's Norton Center for the Arts on Saturday, Oct. 9. The show begins at 8 p.m. in Newlin Hall.

The performance is part of the current Off-Centre series at the Norton Center. Tickets went on sale Monday, Sept. 20 at the box office. Box office hours are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., or patrons may call 606-236-4692 (toll-free 1-877-HIT-SHOW).

The Nitty Gritty Dirt band has enjoyed thirty years of success with such hits as "Mr. Bojangles," An American Dream" and "House at Pooh Corner." Their landmark album Will the Circle Be Unbroken is considered a country music classic. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will share their "down-home style" and "enlightened jug-band roots" as a part of Centre College's Family Weekend festivities.

The Norton Center for the Arts is a regional performing arts center that annually brings to Centre College a series of important musical groups, Broadway shows, individual performances, and other works from the performing arts.
