Five Centre College soccer players earn conference honors
DANVILLE, KY -- Five Centre College soccer players have earned honors in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Junior Meghan Floyd of Louisville (Sacred Heart Academy) earned first-team all conference honors from the Centre women's squad.
From the Centre men's team, Tanner Wann, a junior from Lexington (Sayre School) and junior Jay Flynn of Somerset (Somerset High School) were named to the All-SCAC first team. Named to the All-SCAC second team were sophomore Mike Norton of West Chester, Ohio (Lakota H.S.), senior Tony Arauz of Louisville (St. Xavier) and Mike Kretz of Perrysburg, Ohio (Perrysburg H.S.). Blake Malone, a senior from Columbia, Tenn. (Central H.S.), was an honorable mention selection.
The Centre women's team finished the season with an 8-10 record.
The men's team received an NCAA bid to the national tournament after
going 15-4 for the year.
