Local schools host Centre College student teachers

DANVILLE, KY -- Ashley Ponsoll, a graduate of Boyle County High School and resident of Danville, is among the 14 Centre College seniors currently completing student teaching in local public schools. Ponsoll is teaching under the supervision of Danville High School English teacher Judy Dickey.

A total of five local schools are hosting the Centre student teachers for the spring term.

The Centre students, their placement sites and supervising teachers are as follows. At Boyle County High School - Shire Morgan in English, supervised by Tracie Bottoms; Rachel Richardson in history, with teacher Tony Best; Sara Wahnsiedler in mathematics, with Doug Lester; Danville High School -- Emily Upton in mathematics, with Nancy Kelley and Patty Boyd, and Ashley Wright in biology, with Patricia Calvert.

Junction City Elementary school is hosting Shannon Burbee, with teacher Carolyn Parsons, and Kathryn Cox, with teacher Paula Vanover. Woodlawn Elementary is hosting Sarah Cantrell, with Kathy Ponsoll; Skila King, with Jeannie MacShara; Leslie McAlpin, with Kathy Shewmaker; and Sarah Powell, with Ann Preston. Perryville Elementary is hosting Rebecca Lowery, with teacher Robyn McAfee.
