DANVILLE, KY -- World-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma will appear in concert at Centre College's Norton Center for the Arts on Tuesday, May 11. The show begins at 8 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday, April. 20, at the Norton Center box office. Hours are 9 a.m. 4 p.m. weekdays, or patrons may call 606-236-4692.

Yo-Yo Ma is celebrated world-wide for his musical abilities. He has made over 45 albums and won several Grammy awards. Considered by some to be the most gifted cellist of his generation, Yo-Yo Ma is involved in many musical facets, including performing new concertos, revisiting familiar works, joining colleagues for chamber music, or committing himself to educational programs for the youth.

He will be joined on stage for his recital by pianist Jeffrey Kahane.

The Norton Center for the Arts is a regional performing arts center which annually brings to Centre College a series of important musical groups, Broadway shows, individual performances and other works from the performing arts.
