The most recorded Orchestra in the world, the Boston Pops have made over 100 recordings. They have been heard on radio broadcasts since 1952 and television specials and series since 1969, when "Evening with the Pops" debuted on PBS. Since the original Pops played their first concert in 1885, then known as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, they have toured all over the United States plus Japan and Korea, and they have been led by such famous conductors as Arthur Fiedler and John Williams. Now under the direction of their twentieth conductor, the charismatic and magnetic Keith Lockhart, the Boston Pops are becoming more popular than ever.

The Norton Center for the Arts is a regional performing arts center which annually brings to Centre College a series of important musical groups, Broadway shows, individual performances, and other works from the performing arts.
