Centre College will offer its first archaeological study tour of the American
Southwest, scheduled to begin June 5 under the direction of Dr. Samuel Fee.
The program is open to Centre students and alumni, as well as interested
community residents.
The study tour will include archaeological field work at the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center as well as the Shields Pueblo near Goodman Point. Fee plans to take the group to visit Native American reservations including the Rio Grande Pueblos and the Navajo tribe.
Centre students who complete the entire five-week program may earn course credit in anthropology. Non-student participants may opt for one-week or two-week segments within the program, in consultation with Fee.
A complete program schedule is available on-line .
Fee is a veteran of more than eight archaeological expeditions at sites in America and Europe. He holds bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from Ohio State University. Fee joined the Centre faculty this year with dual appointments in teaching and administration.
