Sarah Green named to All-Region team DANVILLE, KY - Sarah Green (Western Hills/Frankfort), a sophomore on the Centre College women's basketball team, has been named to the Columbus Multimedia South All-Region team. Green was selected as the center on the second team of the twelve-player squad - only four of the twelve players chosen were underclassmen. "Sarah was chosen as one of the best players from over 60 teams in the South Region. This is a nice honor for her and our entire team. She is certainly deserving of this award," said Coach Jennifer Ruff. Green led the Colonels in scoring with 15 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field. She also was the team leader in rebounds averaging over eight each contest. Green had nine double-doubles on the year while helping Centre to a 16-9 record, its best season since 1994. Green was also ranked as one of the top five individuals in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in the following categories: scoring, field goal percentage, rebounding, field goals made per game. She also finished ninth in the SCAC with a 71.2 percent at the free throw line. Green was selected to the SCAC All-Conference Team and was voted the Most Outstanding Player on the Centre squad. - end -
