Released: Jan. 17, 2000

DANVILLE, KY- Sophomore Sarah Green, a forward on the Lady Colonels Basketball team, has been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Co-Player of the Week.

On Jan. 15, the Frankfort, Ky. native compiled 21 points and 15 rebounds, hitting 8-of 14 shots from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line to help Centre (10-4, 4-3) hand the 22nd ranked Sewanee Lady Tigers (10-2, 5-2) its second loss of the season with a 94-71 victory.

Third-year head coach Jennifer Ruff has been thoroughly impressed with Green's performance this season.

"Sarah has made improvement in every game we have played this year. She is definitely our hardest worker and her work ethic is reflective of our team record at this point."

This season, Green is shooting an impressive 48% (ninth in SCAC) from the field and leads the Lady Colonels in scoring with 15.8 PPG (fifth in SCAC) and 7.9 RPG (third in SCAC).

The Lady Colonels, who are off to their best start since 1996, will next face conference rival Rhodes College at home this Friday, Jan. 21, at 6 p.m.
