RELEASED: Dec. 20, 2000 DANVILLE, KY The critically and publicly acclaimed Moscow Festival Ballet will present Don Quixote at Centre College's Norton Center for the Arts on Tuesday Jan. 23. The show will begin at 8 p.m. in Newlin Hall. Tickets go on sale in early January at the Norton Center box office. Hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays. Patrons also may call 859-236-4692 or toll-free at 1-877-HIT-SHOW. The Moscow Festival Ballet was founded in 1989 by Sergei Radchenko, a former Bolshoi ballet dancer. His mission was to unite the classic forms of the Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies of Russia. The diverse company has successfully toured Europe and the Orient, including performances in Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Hong Kong. The ballet continues to present traditional Russian ballet while also incorporating modern pieces into the performance. The Norton Center for the Arts is a regional performing arts center, which annually brings to Centre College a series of important musical groups, Broadway shows, individual performances and other works from the performing arts.
