Centre artist included in Louisville show

DANVILLE, KY- A piece of ceramic sculpture by Judith K. Pointer, visiting assistant professor of art at Centre College, is included in a current exhibit at the Swanson Cralle Gallery in Louisville. The gallery is located on Market Street and is open Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. 6 p.m.

The exhibit, which remains up through Feb. 26, features ceramics prepared by Kentucky women artists. All of the works were fired in an outdoor wood-fired kiln in Casey County during an artists' retreat hosted last year by potter Davie Reneau. Pointer submitted a piece entitled "Birch."

Pointer, who joined the Centre faculty in 1998, holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas and a master of fine arts degree from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
