Norton Center presents Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet

DANVILLE, KY -- The Ballet de l'Opera de Bordeaux will present Sergei Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet at Centre College's Norton Center for the Arts on Monday, Jan. 24. The ballet will begin at 8 p.m. in Newlin Hall

The performance is part of the 1999-2000 Newlin Hall series at the Norton Center.

The Ballet de L'Opera de Bordeaux has thrilled audiences for over two hundred years and is now hailed as one of the world's leading ballet companies. The company has been home to some of ballet's greatest choreographers, including Marius Petipa and Paolo Bortoluzzi. Since 1996, the company has been under the direction of Paris Opera Ballet great, Charles Jude, who graced Centre's Norton Center nearly thirteen years ago when he performed here with the legendary Rudolf Nureyev.

The Norton Center for the Arts is a regional performing arts center that annually brings to Centre College a series of important musical groups, Broadway shows, individual performances, and other works from the performing arts.
