Swimming and diving athletes get wins, records

DANVILLE, KY - Centre athletes on the swimming and diving team have secured several first-place finishes and school records this season.

Blythe Ashcraft set a school record in the 200-yd. backstroke (218.99) in a meet at Campbellsville and won the 200-yd freestyle in that meet. She set a pool record at home against Wittenberg in the 500-yd. freestyle (525.60) and in that meet finished first in the 200-yd. individual medley. Other first-place finishes in the meet against Campbellsville (which the Centre men won): Kyle Poland in 50-yd. freestyle and 100-yd. freestyle, and Will Boomershine in 200-yd. freestyle.

The men also beat Asbury; first-place finishers in that meet: Poland in 50-yd. and 100 yd. freestyle; Joe Samson in 1000-yd. freestyle, D. H. McNabb in 200-yd. freestyle, Scott Godthaab in 500-yd. freestyle, and Matt Taum in 200-yd. breaststroke. The men's 400-yd. freestyle relay team won against Campbellsville and Asbury; the swimmers were Poland, Boomershine, Godthaab and McNabb.
