Willie Nelson to Appear in Concert at Centre College

DANVILLE, KY -- Country and pop mega-star Willie Nelson will appear in concert at Centre College on Friday, Oct. 20, as the headline event for homecoming weekend. Nelson's show will begin at 8:30 p.m. in Newlin Hall in the Norton Center for the Arts.

According to the Norton Center box office, the show was sold out several weeks ago. A limited number of tickets are available for the next Norton Center show, featuring pop star Art Garfunkel on Saturday, Oct. 28 during Family Weekend at the college.

Nelson has become a legend among American recording artists, with more than 200 albums to his credit and numerous awards. Now past age 65, he continues to play about 250 concert dates per year. Frequent vocal partner Emmylou Harris says of him, "If America has only one voice, it would be Willie's."

The Norton Center for the Arts is a regional performing arts center which annually brings to Centre College a series of important musical groups, Broadway shows, individual performances and other works from the performing arts.
