Britt named MVP at basketball banquet

DANVILLE, KY—Senior point guard Brian Britt of Bowling Green has been named Most Valuable Player on the 2000-2001 Centre basketball team. The 5'5" Warren East graduate broke the conference record for career steals with 257. Britt also averaged 12.5 points per game, the team's highest scorer.

Other award winners were senior Drew Park of Lexington and junior Doug Donaldson of Franklin. Park received the Best Teammate Award for his all-around play and Donaldson won the Best Rebounder Award.

Post-season honors also went to Britt for second team all-conference and to Donaldson for honorable mention. Rob King of Louisville was selected to the all-freshman team.

The Colonels posted an overall record of 14-11 and 12-6 in the conference, good enough for third place.
