DANVILLE, KY— You can show your support for Centre College by ordering an Independent Higher Education license plate.
An application form can be picked up from any of Kentucky's 19 independent colleges, from the county clerk's office, from the Association of Independent Colleges and University's Web site at www.aikcu.org/news/0104licenseplates.html or by calling (502) 695-5007.
A one-time application fee of $25 is required with each application; and an additional $25 ($15 to register your vehicle and $10 as a scholarship contribution) will be due when the license plate is picked up. The total cost of the license plate and registering your vehicle for the first year will be $50.
Following the first year, a license plate costs $25 to renew annually, just $10 more than a regular license plate. The extra money each year will go to a Centre College scholarship fund.
The plates will be available eight to 10 weeks after 900 applications are received from all of the state's independent colleges and universities. After the 900 plates are produced, the plates will be available immediately after an application is processed.
