Anderson was part of a three-person panel that discussed the death penalty in light of the upcoming execution of Timothy McVeigh on June 11. The other guests were Paul Rubin, a professor of economics at Emory University in Atlanta, and criminal psychologist Helen Morrison. Stephen Frazier, co-anchor of CNN NewsStand, served as the moderator. Anderson has expertise in the economics of law, crime, and the environment. He recently released a study on crime and the findings showed that the death penalty is not a deterrent to violent crime. He has published scholarly articles on a wide-range of subjects and has published five books. - end -
