RELEASED: July 25, 2001

DANVILLE, KY—Collie King will address the Governor's Scholars Thursday, July 26, at Weisiger Theatre at Centre.

King is founder, president and CEO of the Louisville-based MyCareerNetwork.com. MyCareerNetwork.com, started in July of 1999, is an on-line community that enables talented people with Kentucky roots to build their careers, while helping Kentucky companies attract the talent they need to build a better future.

King's first entrepreneurial venture, Omni Communications, Inc., was founded in 1993 as a distributor of telecommunications services. At the time of the sale, ntr.net had Internet customers in all 48 contiguous states. King's organization memberships include Focus Louisville Alumni Group, University of Louisville Entrepreneurial Council, Greater Louisville Inc. Workforce Development Council and the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Governor's Scholars Program.

The GSP concludes Saturday, July 28. A recognition banquet will be held Friday evening at Cowan Dining Commons from 6-9 p.m. A GSP Staff Reception will be held on the library lawn at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
