DANVILLE, KY—Dean Brownley has been named the head swimming coach at Centre College. Brownley most recently coached at Campbellsville University where he was selected the National Women's Swim Coach of the Year in 1998. During his tenure at Campbellsville from 1992-2000, Brownley produced 52 All-Americans, 4 individual national champions, and 3 academic All-Americans. Brownley has also been honored as the Mid South Conference's Coach of the Year in men's soccer. He was Campbellsville's head soccer coach for men for eight years and coached the men's golf team in 2000. At Centre, Brownley will help coach the women's soccer team and teach classes in the health and human performance area.
Centre Athletic Director Joe McDaniel seemed pleased with the hire. "Dean did a great job at Campbellsville, and I'm sure he'll do well here. He has a lot of versatility in the coaching areas and we really like that. I'm extremely pleased he is joining our staff."
Brownley is a graduate of the University of Louisville and a native of New York.
