DANVILLE, KY The light-hearted music and dance extravaganza, Footloose, is coming to Centre College's Norton Center for the Arts on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The show will begin at 8 p.m. in Newlin Hall. Tickets are on sale at the Norton Center box office. Hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays. Patrons also may call 859-236-4692 or toll-free at 1-877-HIT-SHOW. Footloose made its debut in May of 2000 in Las Vegas. Produced by Big League Theatrics, the show swept the nation in a hugely successful cross-country tour. The musical tells the story of a stranger who becomes an unlikely hero and inspires change in a small town through his love of dancing. The highly energetic musical features award-winning musicians Tom Snow (composer) and Dean Pitchford (writer and lyricist) and features nine new songs written for the stage production. The Norton Center for the Arts is a regional performing arts center, which annually brings to Centre College a series of important musical groups, Broadway shows, individual performances and other works from the performing arts.
