DANVILLE, KY — Centre College's class of 2005 will arrive Wednesday, August 29.
This year's incoming freshman class will enter with impressive academic figures. Average ACT scores are 27.2 and the SAT average is 1249. Fifty-six percent are in the top 10 percent of their class, while the average G.P.A. is 3.73.
Twenty-three states and territories and five foreign countries are represented by 300 freshmen and 12 transfers. Seventy-two percent are from Kentucky, including 10 from Boyle County.
The class is 58 percent female and 42 percent male.
Kentucky's highest ranked national institution, Centre is listed by U.S. News and World Report among the country's top 50 national liberal arts colleges. Centre leads all colleges and universities in the percentage of alumni who give annual financial support.
