Godspell coming to Centre College's Norton Center

DANVILLE, KY – The Grammy-award winning musical, Godspell comes to Centre College's Norton Center for the Arts on Tuesday, May 1. The show will begin at 8 p.m. in Newlin Hall.

Tickets are on sale at the Norton Center box office. Hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays. Patrons also may call 859-236-4692 or toll-free at 1-877-HIT-SHOW.

Godspell won rave reviews as a Broadway play and then a movie in the 1970s, interpreting the gospel of St. Matthew for a young generation. One song, "Day by Day," hit number one on the Billboard chart, and many others became permanent favorites, including "Prepare Ye" and "Save the People."

The touring production is directed by Scott Schwartz.

The Norton Center for the Arts is a regional performing arts center, which annually brings to Centre College a series of important musical groups, Broadway shows, individual performances and other works from the performing arts.
