"Healing Journeys" discussion at Centre College

RELEASED: Feb. 28, 2001

DANVILLE, KY – Centre College will present a panel discussion entitled, "Healing Journeys" led by oncologist Dr. Phil Leming. Other panelists include Carla Naehring and Terry Smith, former football player for the Cincinnati Bengals. The free convocation will be held on March 7 at 8 p.m. in Weisiger Theatre on the Centre College campus.

The panelists will speak about the healing process. Carla Naehring, diagnosed with lung cancer four years ago, will share her story of recovery and of her dedication to helping other cancer patients. Terry Smith will relate his experience while overcoming a serious form of melanoma. Both panelists were healed against all odds through traditional medicine and alternative therapies. These are stories of change and of resistance to change.

Dr. Leming is a clinical instructor in internal medicine at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and attending physician in the department of internal medicine at The Christ Hospital. He founded the Clinical Cancer Research Department at The Christ Hospital and was its director until its merger with the University of Cincinnati Health Alliance.
