Centre's Kirkland named pitcher of the week in SCAC RELEASED: Mar. 7, 2001 DANVILLE, KY – Senior pitcher J.T. Kirkland was named pitcher of the week in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference for games played the first week in March. Kirkland pitched 10 innings of scoreless baseball allowing 7 hits, striking out 7, and walking only 3. He received a no decision in a 1-0 Centre victory over Denison University in extra innings, and he pitched three scoreless innings versus Bethel College (Ind.) to gain a save. Kirkland, a graduate of Henry Clay High School, is a three-year letterman for the Colonels and is a dean's list student majoring in economics.
