The show goes on for Centre students

RELEASED: December 6, 2001

DANVILLE, KY—Centre students fared well during the Kentucky Theatre Festival hosted on campus Nov. 16-18.

Centre students Patrick Riley, Rebecca Grossman, David Flora and Ian Frank successfully auditioned to attend the South East Theatre Conference in Mobile, Ala., in March of 2002. The students faced stiff competition from students from other Kentucky institutions and from schools in four Midwest states. They go on to audition before more than 100 professional companies for internships and professional summer work.

For their work in Centre professor Patrick Kagan-Moore’s production of "Three Sisters" Centre students Will Johnson and Laura Beth Adams were nominated for the Irene Ryan Acting Awards. They will travel to Converse College (S.C.) in February to take part in the next round of the competition where they will compete for a place in the Kennedy Center finals.

Theatres from across the state representing professional, community, college, university and high school programs met during the festival to celebrate community and explore ways of reaching out in these times of need.
