DANVILLE, KY – The Centre College men’s soccer team is the14th ranked team in the nation according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The Colonels are presently 4-0 with wins over North Park, Aurora, MacMurray, and Westminister. The Colonel defense has been outstanding allowing only one goal in the four games with Jacob Sither (Lexington) and Chris Priddy (Elizabethtown) as goalkeepers. Centre has outscored the opposition 10-1.
Centre assistant coach Jeb Burch is cautiously optimistic about the ranking. “It is great for Centre to be ranked in the national rankings, but it is more important to be there at the end of the season. We have a talented group of young men, but there is still along way to go.” The Colonels will be back in action next Tuesday traveling to Transylvania to take on the Pioneers.
