DANVILLE, KY The innovative Pilobolus dance company is coming to Centre College's Norton Center for the Arts on Tuesday February 27, 2001. The show will begin at 8 p.m. in Newlin Hall.
Founded in a 1971 Dartmouth College Dance class, Pilobolus combines traditional dance movements with intense improvisation and a sense of creative play. Pilobolus is based in Washington Depot, Conn., and is a self-sustaining organization that choreographs, manages and publicizes its own programs. The most recent highlight of the distinguished career of Pilobolus was a 1997 Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding achievement in cultural programming.
The Norton Center for the Arts is a regional performing arts center, which annually brings to Centre College a series of important musical groups, Broadway shows, individual performances and other works from the performing arts.
