Summer renovation, repair project underway at College

DANVILLE, KY—A series of summer renovation and repair projects are taking place at Centre College.

Many of the projects are aimed at replacing outdated equipment and painting surfaces to protect them from the deteriorating effects of the weather.

Young Hall is scheduled for some important work this summer. The exterior trim is to be repainted as well the interior public areas of the building. Repairs to concrete surfaces will be made at the front entrance and at the rear of the building, and the lighting at the front end of the building will be replaced. Some classroom furniture and carpeting will also be replaced. The chiller in the building has recently been replaced.

The roof on Olin Hall is scheduled for replacement, and much of the second floor is to be painted. The chiller was recently replaced at Crounse Academic Center/Doherty Library and new chillers are being installed at the Old Carnegie and Nevin Hall.

The exterior trim is being painted at Nevin Hall and at the fraternity and sorority houses.

The Combs Warehouse grill is being renovated and the Davidson Room in Old Carnegie is being refurbished for Career Services student use.

The Centre athletic department is being attended to again this summer. New lights will be installed at Natatorium Field, and the field will be smoothed out. A cross country course will be constructed at Millennium Park, and the training room in Sutcliffe Athletic Center is being upgraded with equipment and access improvements.
