Centre College students help with Repair Affair

RELEASED: April 24, 2001

DANVILLE, KY—Several Centre College students helped this past weekend with the annual Repair Affair.

Repair Affair is a community wide event where many different volunteers get together for one day and make badly needed repairs on the homes of aging and disabled homeowners. It is funded by local donations and a grant from the Kentucky Housing Corporation.

Centre students helped in painting, cleaning, mowing and various other tasks.

Each year, around 60 percent of all Centre students become community volunteers. The college encourages voluntary service by planning a community service day each year for all first-year students. Ann Young serves the campus as director of volunteer service.
