| Centre professor discusses art work on KET series

DANVILLE, KYSheldon Tapley, professor of art at Centre College, will be featured in a series about art this month on Kentucky Educational Television.
"Looking at Painting" offers viewers the rare chance to meet Tapley and other accomplished Kentucky artists to learn how they see their world, how they became painters, what motivates their work and what inspires them.
"There's something very rewarding in looking for a long time at the world and understanding how to see it better," Tapley said.
The series will air Dec. 3-5 on KET starting at 9 p.m. each night. Tapley is to be featured during the Dec. 3 segment. An extensive Web site will accompany the program, available at www.ket.org/painting by early December.
Viewers take a unique look at Realism, Expressionism, and Abstractionism using as examples the work of contemporary Kentucky painters and the Old Masters who have inspired them.
