Faculty members tenured and promoted at Centre

DANVILLE, KY — Two Centre College faculty members received tenure, two were awarded emeritus status, and others were approved for promotions as the school’s board of trustees met recently on campus.

Rick Bradshaw, assistant professor of history, and Endre Nyerges, associate professor of anthropology, were approved for tenure.

Professors Charles Campbell and Bob Weaver were approved for emeritus status. Campbell is professor of economics at Centre College, where he has taught since 1968. Weaver, who retired from full-time teaching at Centre four years ago, continues to teach piano. Both will formally retire this spring.

John Wilson, Bill Levin, Tony Haigh, and Bruce Johnson were promoted from associate professors to full professors. Stephanie Dew was promoted to associate professor from assistant professor.

Dew and Professor Bill Crummett were approved for sabbaticals during the 2002-2003 winter and spring terms.
