Frakes named assistant football and track coach at Centre

RELEASED: May 10, 2001

DANVILLE, KY—Centre College has announced the hiring of Todd Frakes as an assistant football coach and assistant track coach. Frakes, a 1999 Centre graduate, is a Cincinnati native where he attended Indian Hill High School and was an All-Conference safety for the Colonels. Frakes has coached the last two years on the high school level and will coach the defensive backs for the Colonels.

Head coach Andy Frye likes what Frakes brings to Centre, "I'm thrilled that Todd is returning to Centre. He's a former all conference player and team captain who has an understanding of Centre and knows what Centre football is all about. Todd brings us two years of experience from high school coaching at Indiana Hill where his team went to the playoffs in Ohio. Frakes seemed enthusiastic about the hiring. "I'm excited to coach where I played. Coaching is what I want to do and what better place than Centre: we have an opportunity to do great things here."

In addition to his coaching duties, Frakes will assist with some sports information work and teaching. He has a master's degree from the University of Cincinnati.
