Centre track team breaks two school records at Cumberland Invitational

DANVILLE, KY ­ The Centre College menıs track team won the Cumberland Invitational Track Meet on April 21. The Colonels placed first in three events competing against thirteen teams. The womenıs team finished second and broke two school records in the pole vault and the 3,200 meter relay. Record breakers were Sarah Moore in the pole vault with a mark of 8 feet and the 3,200 meter relay team of Jackie Walesa, Natalie Postel, Aubrey Durbin, and Cary Kemp posted a time of 10:18. This time broke the record that has stood since 1994.

In the menıs competition Joe Guthrie, Andrew Smith, and Sam Allen were winners. Guthrie won the 110 meter high hurdles, Allen the 400 meter hurdles, and Smith captured the disc with a personal best throw of 138 feet, 6 inches.

Both the menıs and womenıs track team will compete this weekend at the SCAC Spring Sports Festival at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.
