New Trustees slated for Centre College Board

DANVILLE, KY—Avery Crounse, of Paducah, Elizabeth Kennan of Danville, and Kevin Taylor, of New York City, have been elected to the Centre College board of trustees. Each was elected during the board’s spring meeting.
Crounse is the president of Elysian Pictures, a motion picture production company, and vice-chairman of the Board of Directors of Crounse Corporation, a barge line operating principally on the Ohio River and its tributaries.
Crounse is an award-winning filmmaker who has written, directed and produced three feature films that have played to audiences worldwide. In addition, Crounse is an internationally recognized photographer whose portfolios have twice been published by American Photographer. Crounse has served on the board of directors for numerous educational, charitable, community development, and arts organizations.
From 1978-1995 Kennan served as the president of Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass. She was also a professor of history at the institution.
Kennan graduated summa cum laude from Mt. Holyoke in 1960, received a master’s degree from Oxford University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Washington. She has numerous honorary degrees.
A member of several board of directors through the years, Kennan currently serves on the boards of Putnam Mutual Funds, Talbots and Northeast Utilities.
Taylor, Centre College Class of 1985, is a vice president of the insurance company American International Group (AIG), where he helps manage the company’s municipal bond portfolio. Taylor recently joined the company after previously serving as vice president of financial services for Prudential Securities.
Taylor has served on Centre’s Alumni Board and reunion committee, among other duties.
Taylor received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and government from Centre, and has an M.P.A. from Indiana University.
Board officers re-elected for the coming year were: J. David Grissom, chairman; Nelson D. Rodes, vice chairman; and James D. Rouse, secretary. Centre President John Roush serves ex officio on the trustee executive committee.
