Caroling alive and well at Centre

RELEASED: Dec. 12, 2002

DANVILLE, KY—A national news story recently lamented the death of caroling in America. The article said the tradition of happy singers going door to door during the holiday season was as played out as Pauly Shore's movie career.

But caroling is still striking a happy note at Centre College.

Centre faculty, staff and friends of the College braved the snow and cold weather Tuesday night to sing to Centre students in the middle of final exams.

The popular tradition is just one example of the many opportunities for the College's students to get to know their professors. At Centre there's plenty of one-on-one time between students and their teachers inside the classroom and out.

And to hear the students tell it, the singing isn't half bad, either.
