RELEASED: Feb. 28, 2002

DANVILLE, KY-The legendary Irish music group The Chieftains will appear once again in concert at Centre College's Norton Center for the Arts on Saturday, March 2 at 8 p.m. in Newlin Hall.

The Chieftains celebrate their 38th anniversary this season and are now regarded internationally as the most famous exponents of traditional Irish music in the world. The Chieftains' musical repertoire is among the most eclectic in the world today.

Consisting of Paddy Moloney, Derek Bell, Martin Fay, Kevin Conneff, Sean Keane and Matt Molloy, the Chieftains continue to spread music and Irish culture throughout the world. Thirty-eight years later, and as many albums to their credit, the Chieftains continue to surprise.

Acclaimed soprano Kiri Te Kanawa will appear in concert at the Norton Center for the Arts on Tuesday, March 5 at 8 p.m. in Newlin Hall.

Kiri Te Kanawa is by all accounts a sensational soprano opera singer. She first wowed London when she sang in The Marriage of Figaro in 1971. She has performed all over the world and will now perform at the Norton Center.
