Embry named Leadership Kentucky member

RELEASED: June 6, 2002

DANVILLE, KY-Jason Scott Embry, director of campaign giving at Centre College, has been named to the Leadership Kentucky class of 2002.

Leadership Kentucky brings together some of the state's most promising leaders in a monthly series of programs. They meet and talk with people active in critical areas and explore the state's opportunities, needs and resources.

Kentucky Leadership graduates develop a network of relationships throughout the state and have deeper insights and a broader knowledge of the issues facing Kentucky. Leadership Kentucky members bring a fresh, broadened perspective to their communities and serve as important guides in improving Kentucky's future.

The next meeting will be June 12-13 in Frankfort.

"In terms of relationships, it has already been very beneficial getting to know my fellow participants on a more personal level, and learning a great deal from everyone's unique experiences, both professional and personal," Embry said. "In such a short period of time, certain life perspectives of mine have already been broadened. I look forward to all my perspectives being stretched in the months ahead."

Leadership Kentucky, created in 1984 as a non-profit statewide educational program, strives to maintain an equal opportunity balance among the 50-55 participants selected each year. Leadership Kentucky is a competitive opportunity. For more information, contact Leadership Kentucky at (502) 695-1102 or e-mail lky@leadershipky.org.

Fifty-four Leadership Kentucky graduates were recognized in a ceremony held in November of 2001 at Centre College. Embry's group will graduate Nov. 14-15 at Northern Kentucky University.

Embry, who joined Centre's staff in 1996, previously served as Centre's associate director of development for annual giving percentage, helping the school recapture the national No. 1 ranking in annual alumni giving. He also serves as the local chapter advisor of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and has received national awards for his efforts. In 2001 he was the National Chapter Advisor of the Year for Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
